What’s it all about?
As you may have already read in the latest magazine, we are currently in the process of moving onto a new membership system. This will allow members to join, renew and update their details via the website, reducing the amount of paperwork and making it much easier for newcomers to join the club without having to print out, fill in, and mail printed forms.
For those members who don’t wish to join or renew online, we will still be keeping the paper forms and accepting payments by cheque and cash in-person at meets so there’s no need to worry – everyone will be catered for.
With that said, we would like to get as many members as possible onto the new system and self-renewing online. This will help us keep the club running smoothly, particularly as we hope to be welcoming a new Treasurer and Membership Secretary to the committee in the near future (both positions are still available – please do get in touch if you feel you can take one of these vital roles on).
We Need Your Help
The new membership system just requires members to have an email address – you don’t even have to create an account if you don’t want to, so it’s really simple to use. Currently, only about 85% of members have an email address on file with us. Some of those may well need updating too.
If you joined the club before email was a thing, or if you’ve changed your email address since joining up, or if you’re not sure either way, please let us know by sending an email with your membership number in the subject line to updates@aacnw.com – we can then update the list as we import it into the new system.
We will only be using email addresses for the purposes of managing your membership subscription – you will receive email reminders leading up to your renewal, but there will be no marketing or spam sent by the club.
If you have any questions or concerns about this, please feel free to ask me or any of the committee.
