Frequently Asked Questions

Home About the AACNW Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do I have to live in the north west to join the AACNW?

A: Not at all, we welcome members from all over the UK and Europe. Whilst most of our activities are based in and around the North West of England and North Wales, members from further afield are more than welcome to organise their own local outings and events.

Q: Do I have to own an American vehicle to join the AACNW?

A: No, we welcome owners, ex-owners, enthusiasts and anyone else with an appreciation for American vehicles.

Q: When is the next monthly meet?

A: Our monthly meets are usually held on the first Sunday of every month at City Airport, Barton (aka Barton Aerodrome). You can view all scheduled meets and events in our Events section.

Q: Do I have to be a member to attend a meet?

A: Only members can exhibit their vehicles, although you are welcome to join the club on the day if you want to show off your pride and joy as a new member. If you want to come along and look at our members’ cars then you are more than welcome as a non-member.

Q: Why is there an entry fee for the montly Barton meet?

A: We are hosted at Barton by the Veterans Garage charity and the £3 entry fee is a donation to them in return for the use of their land and facilities at the airfield. The club does not take any revenue from the entry fee. The good people at Veterans Garage do excellent work for those who have served in the forces and emergency services and the club is proud to support them.

Q: Can I get involved in running the club?

A: Yes you certainly can. We currently have vacancies on the committee for Treasurer and Membership Secretary. As we emerge from Covid and attend more events and arrange more activities we will need more help and will be expanding the committee. Some posts require a minimum duration of one to three years as  a member before you are eligible. Come along to the next meet to see how you can help the club.

Q: Who is on the committee?

A: All current AACNW Committee members and Officials are detailed on the committee page. You can find their contact details on their individual profile pages.

Q: Can I advertise in Rumbles and Roars or on the website?

A: Yes you can. AACNW members benefit from free magazine space to advertise  vehicles and parts both for sale and wanted. Individual non-members can advertise in the same section for a small fee. Trade advertisers can purchase quarter, half, or full-page adverts with an optional design service for an additional fee. All fees are retained by the club to offset our running costs and all design and composition work is done by the committee on a voluntary basis. Contact advertise@aacnw.com for more information.
