Kenny Kitching sent me a text today. He was on the way home from the nags last night when his engine let go big style, and put a conrod through the sump !!!!
Hes stripping it to see the extent of the damage, and will keep me informed. He said there was no warning at all, oil pressure was ok and it just lost power and stopped suddenly !
I have a feeling were all going to be VERY careful for a while

Wow, that IS bad news.
Kenny, hope you can get it sorted soon.
If we're looking for something positive to say; if it had to happen, then better at the end of the season rather than the beginning.
No consolation , I know but you know what I mean.

More bad news from Kenny i'm afraid, He has stripped the motor and the block and crank are scrap, number 7 piston has smacked the valves and the conrod broke and caused all the damage.
So it looks like he is looking for another motor, as theres not much left of his thats useable. What a bummer !
ANYBODY GOT A SPARE FORD V8 KICKING ABOUT (289,302) ???

Kennys decided to get long motor from real steel, and fit all his externals to it . Better than buying a used motor and having to strip and check it,and poss spending more money on it !

Sounds like mine, about 340hp but he's going to need the carb re-jetting etc.

Speaking of Real Steel, I have just been looking at a set of headers for the cuda. Its still on the factory cast iron manifolds at the moment and i fancy some headers !
I believe they can be a bit of a pig to fit though, and because they are long tube headers, you have to cut down the exhaust pipes to meet the headers. That would involve a set of tube cutters, and
i dont have any of those ! Hmmm, decisions……decisions.
